interview - rastafari: is al anderson a buddhist?

"Are you a rasta or a musician first?"
"Oh, I would say that I'm a musician and a rasta and a rasta and a musician. Being a rasta means HEAD CREATOR. And whether you believe in Haile Selassie* or not that's your own opinion, you know, how you see yourself as a rastaman. There's a lot of rastas that believe in nyabinghi.
(*Haile Selassie = Ras Tafari Makkonen, Emperor of Ethiopia, 1930-1975)

"You know, the name of Haile Selassie being that he is the family of the Lion of Judah. Solomon family, the king, King Solomon. Selassie is like one of the remnants of his seed. And I believe that. I truly believe that and like any religion I'm more of a buddhist myself."

"Some rastas think that God is black, cause they believe in Haile Selassie. Is God black or white?"
"Any God is energy. He is like a very powerful energy that no one can consume. And the seasons change and all the animals and all the plants and all the life on earth is evolved around the elements of what makes God as powerful as he is."
